Notably, Lew invented the first home-use otoscope (Earscope) and started a company to manufacture it. Notoco (Nash Otoscope Company) was in business for over 20 years, helping parents with small children monitor ear health at home.

Rose was a true people person — always ready to lend a hand, plan a celebration or take off on a travel adventure with friends. She rarely argued, always aimed for harmony and helped others relentlessly.

Ann Ritola Jones

1937-2025

At 20, she married an equally young Dan Forbes and became a teacher while tending to their children Linda, Alan and then Sheri in a tidy new house in Sunny Brae. She wanted to return to teaching (having been fired from Bloomfield Elementary for being pregnant), so in 1960 she signed a contract to teach third grade at Blue Lake Elementary while Superintendent Clyde Patenaude held baby Alan in his arms.

Wayne Hawkins

1944-2025

In 1972, Wayne accepted a position with the City of Lakewood as environmental resources supervisor, responsible for managing 44,000 street trees and overseeing city streets. His mother, Mary, who had developed an interest in learning Spanish, often attended a summer language program in Mexico.

On March 7, 2025, Frederick Ernest Ahboltin departed for the hereafter from his home in Eureka, watched over by his beloved wife Dorie. Fred was born in Oakland, California, in 1950 to Fred and Monica (Job) Ahboltin.

Following his military service, Bill began a civilian career with the Western Union Telegraph Co., later supporting government contracts in locations such as Kwajalein, the Philippines and Honolulu. In 1976, he returned stateside to enter a business partnership with brother Hal Hummel, founding Hummel Tire & Wheel.

Michael Charles Coragliotti

1943-2025

Michael was a real inspiration; he loved his life and cheated death many times. Roaring back, setting new goals, buying and selling real estate and driving his family to distraction with his harebrained schemes — which somehow seemed to turn out.

Ila had a straight and honest way about her and will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her. Nearing the end, she had a wonderful Hospice care team along with the staff at the Ida Emmerson Hospice House.

Sara Mae (Arnold) Letton died peacefully on Feb. 27, 2025, at her home in Big Lagoon, California. Sara was born Dec. 26, 1941, to Gus W. Arnold and Ella Mae (Hugghins) Arnold in Tyler, Texas.
