Thomas Maxwell Kohler, 87 years old, of Rio Dell, California, died after a brief illness on Jan. 17, 2025 in Eureka, California, with his wife by his side. Tom grew up in Petaluma, California.

Gary Noar, age 66, of Trinidad, California, passed away from complications of kidney cancer and pulmonary embolism on Dec. 06, 2024. Gary was an adventurous spirit and avid hiker.

His surviving friends in Humboldt County, California, who were like family include April and Gene Joyce, Riley Quarles and wife Kathy Statzer, Randy Klein and wife Mary Blair, Christy and Aldaron Laird, Alexandra Stillman, Karole Ely, Jaffa Duggan, Connie Stewart and Kristine Long. Don was preceded in death by his father Donald Wente, Sr. and his stepmother Clare Malaway Wente.

Camille Marie Kopriva Regli

July 18, 1938 - January 14, 2025

During the summer of 1958, while Camille was home in Fortuna, her roommate Pat Regli introduced Camille to her older brother Joe, her future husband, who had returned from serving in the Army in Germany. The couple married on Sept. 17, 1960.

Evelyn Joyce (Throop) Adams

In 2010, he graduated Teen Challenge where he then worked as an intern and touched the lives of many. In that same year he took 1st place in “The Biggest Loser of Humboldt County,” a weight loss competition.

Carlton Yee: 1941-2024

Besides a Ph.D., he had more than 30 years of research experience in forest operations, water quality, fishery habitat and soil erosion processes and mitigation. In addition, he was one of two technical advisors to the Best Management Practices Subcommittee of the Board of Forestry from 1978 to 1980, which resulted in the first revision to soil erosion, watercourse and lake protection, and other forest practice regulations. 

Byron 'Mike' Chamberlain: 1935-2024

While attending UH, he met and married Katherine Piltz. After their firstborn they moved from Hawaii back to SoCal, where their daughter was born.

Pam Giacomini: 1958-2024

Following their graduation from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, in 1980, she with a degree in agricultural journalism, Pam and Henry moved to Humboldt County and took over Henry’s family dairy business. Pam taught agriculture at Ferndale High School and College of the Redwoods while actively partnering with Henry on the dairy.

Heather Mae Lenardo: 1975-2024

After high school, Heather entered the workforce with determination and a strong work ethic. She started her career in food services, working at Hometown Buffet in both Eureka and Chico.
