Mel Berti: 1936-2023

Mel is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sharon, and five children, Steven (Cheryl), Richard, Allison (Shawn), Jennifer (Owen) and Alex; his brother, Don (Donna) ; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and in-laws.  Mel touched many lives and will be greatly missed by all his family and friends. 

Duane 'Tiny' Kempf: 1961-2023

Preceded in death by his parents Donald and Doris Kempf and his younger brother Dean Kempf, he is survived by his children Donald Wesley Kempf (37) and Kelli Anna Kempf (35); his sister Denise Ann (Kempf) Regli and her husband Dennis Regli; and niece Kayla Regli. Duane was a good bowler and a good man. He was a man who loved horse racing and The Big Lebowski.

Aaron Michael McKay: 1981-2023

Aaron worked at restaurants in the Valley West area of Arcata before moving on to Franklin’s Service. He was there for more than 17 years, where he was known as a devoted worker, amazing mechanic and a lifelong friend to those who met him.

Gwenn Lynnore Cloepfil: 1931-2023

Gwenn downplayed her skills, as she was very humble, but she was amazingly clever about many things. Besides her multiple crafts, she could knit, sew, embroider and tat.

Kenneth 'Michael' Allen Davis: 1997-2023

Michael graduated from McKinleyville High School in 2016, where he was a varsity athlete all four years, competing in track and cross-country. He graduated from Cal Poly Humboldt in 2020 with a bachelor’s degree in finance and a minor in economics.

James Richard Proctor: 1936-2023

Wishing to serve the Lord, Jim moved with his wife Janice to McKinleyville, where he Pastored churches, led men’s studies and counseled individuals for 35 years until he passed on July 1, 2023, at age 86. Jim is preceded in death by his wife Janice Proctor and grandson Brandon Van Sant.
