Kathy Sue Montagne: 1948-2025

Kathy moved to California in 1967 with her twin sister, Jacki. Lured by the sunshine and the images of gentle people with flowers in their hair, she landed first in Sacramento before moving to Pasadena where she graduated from Pasadena College.

Laurel Ann Miller: 1963-2025

She enjoyed outings and camping, going to the beaches and spending time with her family. She enjoyed doing things with her nieces and nephews, she spent time with each one of them doing things they liked to do, so they would know they were special in their own way.

Lurline (Mudford) Hatherhill, age 95, passed peacefully in the Renaissance Unit of Timber Ridge Assisted Living Facility in McKinleyville, California, on Wednesday, March 12, 2025. Lurline was born Oct., 6, 1929, in Texarkana, Arkansas.

Helen Stockwell Vatcher

June 26, 1929 - February 28, 2025

After her divorce in 1972, Helen earned a master’s degree in counseling and worked at ECCE House in Eureka as a marriage and family therapist, working with encounter groups and dream therapy groups. She continued painting throughout, and was most recently a member of the Old Town Art Gallery in Eureka.

Arthur K “Art” Barab

He also had a great love of cats, and was fortunate to spend his last years in Arcata with Pruna, and a sizable menagerie of other felines. As his need for care intensified, Art moved to a memory care facility in Sudbury to be near his relatives.

She was 11 when World War II broke out in Europe in 1939. Since Basel is right on the border with Germany and France, one could see tracer fire between Germany and France and hear bombers flying overhead.

Daren Salter

Daren's professional life was marked by his dedication to teaching. He was an honored teacher of upper school Humanities at Northwest School in Seattle and an outstanding teacher of upper school history at Lakeside School in Seattle.
